Standing strong for Cyprus

Compensation payments after the fires in the Limassol region amount to €4.5 million.

Natural disasters are no longer rare - they’re becoming more frequent and destructive, impacting lives, property, and the economy. In Cyprus, the effects of climate change are evident, with hotter, drier summers increasing the risk of wildfires.

At Genikes Insurance, our role goes beyond compensation. We invest in prevention, educate our customers, and collaborate with the State to raise awareness. Insurance is not a luxury - it’s a necessity and a tool for resilience.

After the devastating wildfires in the Limassol district last July, we acted swiftly and responsibly, paying €4.5 million in claims to support recovery and stability. As our General Manager, Christiana Agrotis, stated: "Beyond fulfilling our obligations, we recognize the crucial role of insurance in stabilizing the economy after catastrophic events."

Since 1951, we’ve been committed to protecting Cyprus - not just after the unexpected, but before it happens, through prevention and education.
